Now Robyn was really curious about the 'he' James was referring to. She was pretty certain that it couldn't be his father, because he never said that he had lost a parent. Perhaps a lost sibling? Or a family friend that wasn't as narrow minded as his family. A part of her wanted to ask about it, but she decided against it. So instead she just let it rest.
"Well I hope you are a patience man," she responded when he broke the silence of them both having been lost in thought, "because I have no intention what so ever to visit my birthparents any time soon. Unless they would come back down to earth that is..."

James let out a chuckle at Robyn's comment; "m'yeah, ditto here," he agreed. But then he got to thinking - quite negative thoughts. They were heading for a revolution after all, in without any doubt people were going to get hurt... or worse. It might as well be Robyn, or him. . . . in all likelihood it'd sooner be him though.
He decided not to comment on those thoughts to litteratly though, considering he'd already opted enough touchy subjects for today.
Still he couldn't really drop it, and decided to ask; "this whole revolution thing... it's going to be dangerous isn't it? How come your parents are letting you do this? I mean, shouldn't they be all protective and stuff?"

As James had already expected Robyn wasn't too fond of the new topic. She bit her lower lip and she looked down. She knew both Sir Axel and Elisabeth where really worried about her getting hurt. Sir Axel had made that very clear and though Elisabeth had only told her to be safe she knew she was wrorried as well. As Chrissy must be, if she could fully comperehand what was going on.
"They aren't happy with me joining in," she answered, "but they know this is important to me. And I have as much right to figth for what I believe to be right as anyone else. Axel had made it very clear that he didn't wanted me to get involved, but if he was going to fight in this revolution then so was I. What about your..."
Robyn bit her tongue as soon as she remembered how his parents were. She wished she could have stopped herself sooner.
"The revolution will be dangerous," she said after a moment of silence in a matter of fact kind of way, "it might escalade into a full blown war. There will be losses on both sides, but if we don't do this things will never improve. I'm fighting for a more equal future, not just for us, but also for my sister and all other future generations..."
When she was done talking, her back and shoulders were straight a somewhat stern look on her face. An all over aura of determination and rightiousness hang around her. She knew there was a change either she or Sir Axel or possibly even both of them weren't going to make it, but she wasn't going to back down because of that. It was a risk that she was ready to take.

When Robyn explained that her parents actually weren't really ok with her joining, James nodded understandingly; he'd been a little confused about that earlier, considering how nice and caring they came across in Robyn's stories.

When Robyn asked about his parents, his face turned a bit grim. He appreciated the fact that she realized in time - or at least before finishing her sentence - that her question might lead to yet another uncomfertable awnser. He was relieved when Robyn continued to talk then, even thought the subject matter didn't really cheer him up a whole lot.
On the one hand it was impressive to hear all the good, noble goals Robyn was fighting for, that wasn't it. More to the point was that his only reason for joining the revolution was because his family made him.
He was rather envious of how confident and determined Robyn was, wishing he had something like that to fight for. As such he sighed, a little unhappily; "I wish I had such devotion." Then he realised how that may have come across, and he quickly added: "I don't mean that I don't find all of what you just said a good thing to fight for! That's not what I mean. It's just... I wish I had a reason like yours to go into all of this. Rather than just... because my family wants me to."

Robyn turned her head looking confused at James when he said that he wished he had such devotion. She was just about to comment on that when he explained further. She looked away uncertain when he said that he only was joining in because his family made him.
"You should find something to fight for," she said after a moment of silence, putting a hand on top of his, "It'll help you with practise as well too have a goal of your own. It doesn't matter what that goal is, as long as it works for you."

James looked at Robyn, endeared by her kindness but unconvinced by her promise. "I don't mean to be cynical," he replied in a hessitant voice, "but..."
He never finished that, but just smiled at her again and corrected himself; "I'd like that. I like that idea."
He then hessitated once more, as if words were on his lips, but he couldn't get himself to say them.

Robyn tilted her head when James said that he didn't wanted to be cynical, but never actually finished his sentence. She frowned when he continued after a moment that he liked the idea especially because it sounded like he wanted to say more, but never did.
"...And?" she said after it had become clear that he wasn't going to say what he hadnt'said yet, but she had gotten to curious to just let it rest, "Sorry it just sounded like you wanted to say something more..."

James felt a little caught as he looked at Robyn after her question. "It's- it's nothing," he replied in an uncertain voice. Then after a short silence he decided to share it anyway; "I was going to say that I don't really see myself finding any goal... that works for me." He paused for a brief moment, then he quickly added with an apologetic smile; "I told you it was quite cynical."

But then suddenly he reailzed he did have a goal of his own to go to war. Robyn might feel his heartbeat fastening for a moment as he realized that. He smiled; "nevermind. I think I've already thought of something!" He seemed truely enthusiastic about this, clearly noticable by the energy in his voice.

Robyn was just about to tell James to think a little harder to find something to fight for when he said he already found something. She wasn't really paying attention to his heartbeat so she tilted her head a little at the energy in his voice.
"What did you think of?" she asked curious to what had made his so excited and glad that he had found something to fight for.
