History: Arianna has been a Guardian Angel to the White family (Sameea’s family) even since she got her duty as Guardian assigned. Today, no one but she herself seems to remember how this came to be, but either way she’d stood by the firstborn of every generation of White’s without complaint (if she does actually mind it somewhere, somehow, she keeps it very well hidden). For centuries now she’s tended to the needs, ranging from moral to emotional, of one lucky person of the White family. A change in this pattern came with Sameea; as the girl seemed unruly, demanding and quite basically spoiled from an early age on. It was decided that Sameea shouldn’t know an Angel was watching over her, as it would only aggravate her arrogance. Instead Arianna would impersonate a human, so she could stand by Sameea without betraying her true nature. As Sameea’s family is very wealthy and quite posh, an obvious role for Ariana was to be Sameea’s companion*. So she lived alongside Sameea as a human, ‘growing up’ next to her and watching over her vigilantly.
Personality: when she pretends to be a human, a student of the Magic School, she’s quiet and reserved. Her silence is either considered dignified or cold, depending on the person judging. It is said that, only in Sameea’s presence, she does open up but that might very well just be untrue. As an Angel, as her true self, she is more varied and extrovert. She will more openly express her emotions, especially her dislikes – which she keeps very much to herself in her human form – and she will also speak out of herself, instead of only when spoken to. She is – naturally – a strong believer in all things good, and detests evil. Still, she (forcefully) manages to tolerate most impurities around her, including Sameea’s often appalling character.
Special: as being an Angel – sometimes said to be the original source of white magic – school comes very easy to her. She is the best in her class, while actually still holding back as not to blow her cover. The professor of White Magic knows of her nature, as he is a close friend of the White family and Sameaa’s godfather. They often come together to discuss their common interests.
* It was considered quite normal for wealthy families to adopt orphans, to have them be their child’s companion. Though some families have been known to abuse this custom, to adopt a child and have them work as a servant (or worse), usually the adoptees were treated quite well – often granted much of the same privileges as one of the family.
